AICP – Senior Planner
Brief info

April Fisher, AICP, is a Senior Planner with Parks Consulting Services, where she provides expert support in comprehensive planning, land use, zoning, and long-range community development for municipalities across Central Florida. With more than two decades of experience in both the public and private sectors, she helps local governments navigate complex development applications, plan updates, and policy decisions that shape sustainable, well-designed communities.

In addition to her role with Parks Consulting Services, April leads Fisher Planning and Development Services, Inc., a firm focused on land use planning, urban and regional planning, and geographic information systems (GIS) services. She has also served as a consulting planner for cities such as Belle Isle and Sanford, bringing practical, on-the-ground expertise to comprehensive plan updates, land development regulations, and community engagement processes.

Earlier in her career, April was a full-time instructor at the University of Central Florida, where she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in urban planning, public administration, and GIS. This academic experience strengthened her ability to communicate technical planning concepts clearly and to mentor the next generation of planners and public administrators.

April holds a master’s degree in city and regional planning from Clemson University and a bachelor of science degree in environmental studies from the University of North Carolina Asheville. She is a certified planner through the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and she is recognized for her collaborative approach, strong analytical skills, and commitment to helping communities grow in a thoughtful, resilient, and fiscally responsible way.
